The Tech-Air® Off-Road Airbag System is the world's first fully electronic airbag protection system designed specifically for off-road riding disciplines including motocross, enduro, and adventure riding. Using AI-powered crash detection algorithms, the system deploys in milliseconds upon impact to provide comprehensive upper body protection including chest, back, shoulders, and collarbone areas. Unlike mechanical tether systems, Tech-Air® operates autonomously through advanced sensors that continuously monitor rider movement and environmental conditions.
The system integrates seamlessly into compatible off-road jackets and vests, offering modular and user-serviceable technology that can be recharged and maintained by riders. It meets the highest safety certifications for motorcycle airbag systems and has been validated through extensive racing and real-world testing across multiple off-road disciplines.
Tech-Air® Off-Road systems are specifically engineered for the unique demands of off-road riding, which differs significantly from road use. The system features specialized crash detection algorithms calibrated for jumps, impacts, and the dynamic movements common in motocross and enduro riding. The airbag deployment profile is optimized for off-road crash scenarios, providing targeted protection for the types of impacts riders encounter on trails and tracks.
Off-road compatible garments are designed with enhanced ventilation, lighter weight construction, and increased mobility to accommodate the physical demands of standing riding positions and aggressive body movements. The system is also built to withstand dirt, dust, and harsh environmental conditions typical of off-road environments while maintaining consistent performance.
The Tech-Air® Off-Road Airbag System is designed for multiple off-road motorcycle disciplines including motocross (MX), enduro, hard enduro, rally, and adventure riding on mixed terrain. The system's AI-powered sensors are calibrated to recognize the specific crash dynamics of each discipline, from high-speed motocross impacts to technical enduro falls and adventure touring accidents.
Whether you're a competitive racer, weekend trail rider, or long-distance adventure tourer, the system provides consistent protection across varying speeds, terrain types, and riding styles. The technology has been tested and validated in professional racing environments including World Championship motocross and rally competitions.
The Tech-Air® Off-Road system features user-serviceable technology designed for easy maintenance. The electronic airbag unit can be removed from compatible garments for charging using the included USB charging system. Regular charging is essential—check battery status through the system's indicator lights or companion app before each ride.
After deployment, the airbag unit must be sent to an authorized Alpinestars service center for professional inspection, CO2 cartridge replacement, and system recalibration. The outer garment can be cleaned according to care label instructions with the airbag unit removed. Store the system in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight when not in use, and perform regular system checks to ensure sensors and electronics are functioning properly. Detailed maintenance guidelines and service intervals are provided with each system.
The Tech-Air® Off-Road Airbag System is designed to integrate with specific Alpinestars garments engineered with compatible construction and fit requirements. The system requires jackets or vests with proper internal pockets, mounting points, and structural design to ensure correct airbag positioning and deployment.
Not all off-road jackets are Tech-Air® compatible—the garment must be specifically designed to accommodate the electronic unit and airbag deployment profile. Check individual product specifications or use the Tech-Air® compatibility checker to determine which garments work with the off-road airbag system. Compatible products are clearly marked in their product descriptions and technical specifications.
